Private Detective in Rutland

Rutland is a small county with a population of about 37 thousand located in the East Midlands region of England; it bounds with Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire. Rutland is the smallest historic county in England, so, in 1950 the county council adopted the Latin motto for it, which reads "Multum in Parvo" (meaning "much in little"). The county has only two towns: Oakham, which is the county town, and Uppingham.

Rutland Water, a large artificial reservoir located in the centre of the county, is a very important nature reserve that serves as breeding ground for ospreys and a wintering area for wildfowl. Rutland has many historic places of interest - for example, Oakham Castle in Oakham, built between 1180 and 1190, is well worth visiting. Currently Oakham Castle is owned and managed by the Rutland County Council and is licensed for civil ceremonies.

The Castle is considered to be a great example of domestic Norman architecture in England. It has a range of 12th century sculptures carved of local stone, depicting six musicians, and a unique collection of horseshoes forfeited by peers of the realm according to an old tradition. The oldest one was presented by Edward IV in 1470, and the newest - by Duchess of Cornwall in 2014. The castle was reopened after extensive restoration in May 2016; admission to Oakham Castle is free.
