Private Detective in Watton

Watton is located in Breckland that is part of Norfolk. This market town is not too far from Norwich and has close to 7 000 inhabitants. It is twinned with a German town, the Lower Rhine (Niederrhein) town of Weeze. The market that is held on Wednesdays offers an array of stalls that provide fresh sea produce. It is situated on Market Square opposite Wayland Hall and along High Street. A milestone indicating the distances to towns in the area stands in the square.

The clock tower is one of Watton's main places of interest. Christopher Hey, an affluent dealer in textile fabrics, built it in 1679. The purpose of this tower was to house a fire warning bell which hangs in a cupola at the tower's top. In 1827 a new clock was installed. Today the clock tower functions as a tourist and information centre. The town also boasts a mixed secondary school, Wayland Academy, that is situated in Merton Road.

Watton also provides amenities such as the Watton's Sports Centre. It was completed in 1983 and offers a car park, main games hall, committee rooms, bar area, changing rooms, squash courts, cricket nets and facilities for basketball, five-a-side-football and badminton. A woodland, Wayland Wood, is also situated close to Watton. It is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and is a popular spot to relax or take your dog for a walk (although dogs are not allowed here).
