On the east Lindsey district of the English county of Lincolshire lies the small seaside town of Mablethorpe. The UK census of 2011 recorded a total population of 12531 of the town including Sutton. The town was reduced in size in 1540s by the sea and it has existed for many centuries. The Mablethorpe Hall is found on western side of the town along Alford Road near the St Mary parish church which also includes Trusthorpe. Mablethorpe is the only British town offering beach hut festival Bathing Beauties.

Mablethorpe's seafront is the home to the Dunes leisure complex, a skatepark opened in 2008 and the town's Star of the East which offer various different leisure and entertainment activities. Its hoe to the famous Mablethorpe's Ye Olde Curiosity Museum that locals frequent. In addition to these two main landmarks are the Theddlethorpe Gas Terminal on the northeast of the town that supplies about 5% of the UK's gas and the two Bambers windfarms that provide electricity to the town.

Transport in the town is facilitated by the Stagecoach Interconnect 9 running through the town, Grayscroft Coaches offering various services from their town base on Victoria Road and Brylaine operate service 96/96A linking Mablethorpe with Alford and Spilsby. A52 eastern terminus is at the town though A1104 and A16 through Alford offers the best connectivity to the town. The bendy A157 towards Louth also serves the area. The town is a media centre providing two newspaper and radio coverage.
