Private Detective in Epworth

Situated in the heart of North Lincolnshire, or more precisely in the Isle of Axholme, England, lies Epworth, a town that has quite interesting history, especially the facts concerning the name of the isle itself. At one point in time the Isle was drained, which even though it caused a lot of problems for the people living in the area, it made the land very fertile. On the last census records show that there were 3,734 people living in Epworth.

Epworth is often mentioned as the birth place of John Wesley and his brother Charles Wesley, both of them playing a very important role in the formation of the Methodism, and often even referred to as their founders. That is why there are many religious objects across the country related to Methodism, most of them even carrying the name of the Wesley brothers. Epworth is no exception to this as it features the Wesley Memorial Church which was built in 1889 to honor the two brothers.

Closely connected to the Wesley brothers is also the Old Rectory in Epworth which today is known as the Epworth museum. This object was the family house of the Wesley family, including the young founder of the Methodism. During the period when the Wesley family occupied the house, there were a lot of paranormal activities that happened on the site that even today remain a mystery. These haunting scenarios are known under the name the "Wesley poltergeist".
