Eythorne is a village and a civil parish with about 2,500 residents and 1,000 households. It is located 7.3 miles of Dover and about 13 miles of Canterbury in Kent County, England. The village stands on a heritage railway called the East Kent Railway. The closest railway station is 3 miles away at the nearby village of Shepherdswell. Although situated a mile from Tilmanstone colliery, (closed in 1986), Eythorne wasn't actually a pit village.

Historically, Eythorne is divided in two halves: Lower Eythorne, where there are two churches (Roman Catholic Church and the Church of England) and Upper Eythorne, where most of the villagers currently live, with a pub and the village shop. Many of villagers live in the small housing developments built in 1960s and 1970s. Eythorne once had three pubs, one of which, The Crown, is still working, and two others, the Palm Tree and the White Horse now are residential homes.

There also is a Baptist Church in Eythorne, which is more than 450 years old. It is one of the first Baptist churches in the UK. The Parish church, dedicated to St Peter and St Paul, is a Grade II* listed building. It is a flint with a plain tiled roof, built is about 1200. In the 15th century a perpendicular north tower and porch were added. The church was restored 1873-1874.
