Ledbury is a magnificent market town situated in Herefordshire, England. In the Domesday Book of 1806, the town is referred to as Liedeberge. The town's growth is owed much to some three famous clothing merchants, namely; Skyppe, Skynner and Elton. In the 1970s, the town expanded more as a result of increased agricultural activities in the area.
Unlike many towns in England, the beautiful and unique town of Ledbury is mostly made up of timber-framed structures. The town has several timber-framed buildings that existed from the medieval and Victorian times and still exist to date. The market house in the town centre is such a great example. Built in the 17thcentury, the market house is a magnificent historical gem structure built on stilts. It is considered to have been designed by a great architect known as John Abel. Another wonderful timber-framed structure is the Ledbury park.
