Private Detective in Painswick

The town of Painswick is located on a hill in Gloucestershire and looks across one of the Five Valleys. The valley and hamlet to the town's west and north are so beautiful that it is named Paradise. The wool trade used to be one of its major industries, but today it is renowned for the yew trees of its parish church and the Rococo Garden. The town's traditional architecture as well as narrow streets makes it the perfect example of a typical English village.

One of Painswick's main places of interest is the St Mary's Parish Church. It is a Grade I listed building and many unique monuments and chest tombs are found in its churchyard. One of the town's traditions takes place in September when children take hands and hug the St Mary's Parish Church. Other chapels and churches are The Chapel of Our Lady and St Teresa (located on Friday Street), The Friends' Meeting House (located on Vicarage Street), Ebenezer Chapel (located on Bisley Street) and the Cornelius Winter Memorial Chapel (located in Gloucester Street).

Another place of interest is Painswick Beacon (also known as Painswick Hill). It offers a great view of the Severn Vale and sections of this iron age hill fort is currently a golf course. The town has only one small, non-religious school, Croft Primary School, for boys and girls aged four to eleven.
