In Great London is this suburban area called Surbiton next to river Thames. It is situated about 11 miles to the south west of central London. Dedicated to St. Mark, this Anglican Church in Surbiton dates back to 1845 and is the oldest church in the area. It is located near the top of St. Mark's Hill and suffered several damages from bombs in 1940s where it stayed closed till 1960 after some major restoration work. The Victorian design can now only be seen in the tower, spire and north wall as they are the only surviving aspects of the original church prior to the bombing.
