The town of Wallasey is located on the estuary of the River Mersey. The town is in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, within Merseyside, in Great Britain. Prior to the 19th century, there weren't many rewsidents in this town. Within the town lies what is now regarded as the 'Wallasey Village', this was where the town's primary hub and church were located. There was also a magazine or gun powder store within Wallasey, but it was in a location far from the populated areas.

Wallasey has a town hall. The Wallasey Town Hall stands on Brighton Street, with foundations laid out by King George V himself during 1914. Today the town hall may be hired to hold special functions. This town is also home to the country's first ever guide dog training school. The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association was established in Wallasey in the year 1931. Wallasey also has its very own golf club, the Wallasey Golf Club.

St. Hillary's Church is a grade II listed building situtated within Wallasey. It dates from the eighteenth century, but its tower was from the middle ages. The church is in Claremount Road. Other churches include the St Alban's Church, the Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea, the St Nicholas' Church, and the New Brighton St James & Emmanuel. There are several primary schools, one of them is the St George's Primary School on St George's Road.
