The town of Prescot is located in Merseyside nearby Liverpool. It boasts with more than 20 buildings that are recorded as designated listed buildings such as Prescot Museum and Masonic Hall. The Prescot Museum has a permanent display about the town's history of watchmaking. Some of the town's other attractions include Lord Derby's estate (situated on the fringe of the town), Stone Street (one of Britain's narrowest streets) and Knowsley Safari Park (a zoological park).

One of its main places of interest is the Eccleston Park railway station that is managed by Northern. It is located on the Liverpool to Wigan Line and provides a service to the area of Eccleston Park. In 2010 this line was electrified. The town also has a second railway station, namely Prescot railway station. A second place of interest is Prescot Parish Church of St Mary's. This Anglican parish church is the town's only Grade I listed building.

Some of Prescot's other religious sites include the Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady and St Joseph (located behind St Mary's), Prescot Methodist Centre, Elim Pentecostal church and the Zion Independent Methodist Church. The town centre also offers high street chains (such as Heron Foods and Iceland), boutique fashion outlets, butchers and other smaller shops. Situated on the border of town on Steley Way is another big retail complex, Cables Retail Park.
