Located 24 km south east of central London is this town called Swanley in Kent county. It is adjacent to the M25 and has a population of 16,226 as at the last census. It is an old settlement that existed even by 1066 when it had only a few cattle farms and was not a town then. It developed from a crossroad to a bustling town in only one and a half century. This was accelerated by the coming of the railway.
