Herne Bay in Kent, England is a seaside town on the south coast of Thames. It has a population of 38,563 as a t 2011 census. The town is 11 km north of Canterbury and 8 km East of Whitstable. Its seafront ahs the world's first freestanding clock tower purposely built in 1837. The town had the second longest pier in the UK from the Victorian era till 1978. It grew in the19th century as a tourist destination but has seen a decline over the years.

One of the major landmarks within this town is London Paddington Station located at the Praed street, which binds this station at the front. There are residential partly surrounding this station with St Mary's Hospital being part of the housings among hotels and restaurants. This station has so far grown into a busy point and currently has 14 terminal platforms. Paddington also serves as a terminus for long distance trains with high speed in London.
