Private Detective in Bishopsbourne

The rural village called Bishopsbourne in Kent is situated 6 km south east of Canterbury and 14 km from Dover. It has two short sections of streets that are developed just at the foot of the valley of Nailbourne. It is mostly wooded and has a Roman British burial mound at the north center of this small wood area. It has an 1861 built pub called The Merdaid that is sustained by the summer tourism in the village. There have been found some Iron Age remains at Bourne Pak excavation.

Located along 1 mile from the A2, Roman Road about 4 miles from Canterbury to Dover. The church was totally rebuilt in the 13th century on a larger scale. The church has no chancel which probably was never built. There however exist no evidence of an earlier church but the rebuilding may have been done in stages in the second half of the 13th century. It is mainly built of flintwork, rag and caenstone though most of these have been removed when it was being restored in the 19th century.

The Bishopsbourne railway station was opened in 1889 on the north side of Crow camps road. It was used till 1940 when passenger trains stopped and finally closed in 1945. The premise now stands disused though well maintained to represent a 1920s railway station. Most of the route to the station has been reverted to an agricultural land which some areas left overgrown with vegetation. Due to slow uneconomical usage of the station, it was necessary to close its operation.
