Private Detective in Wickham

Wickham boasts places of interest such as Chesapeake Mill (a Grade II* listed building) and St Nicholas Church. Chesapeake Mill was built in 1820 by using the HMS Chesapeake's timbers. This watermill closed in 1976 and today it is utilised as a retail site for gifts, art, antiques as well as jewellery. St Nicholas Church dates back to the 1100s and is situated on a big sacred mound.

The village also hosts events such as the Wickham Festival (a yearly music event that spans over a few days), Taste of Wickham (a food festival) and Wickham Horse Fair (the oldest and biggest horse fair in England). Another activity is to explore the Wickham Water Meadows. These water meadows cover about eight acres and create a peaceful site in the centre of Wickham where you can walk around or enjoy a picnic.

The village also provides amenities that include a tennis club (located at Wickham Recreation Ground) and the Meon Valley Railway Line (a recreational bridleway that goes through Wickham). It forms one of several trails that are often used by cyclists and people who want to take their dogs for a walk. The village used to have a railway station (Wickham Hants railway station), but this closed in 1955. The station was knocked down and currently forms part of a path.
