Behind the Royal Garrison Church visitors can enjoy in the view of the Statue of the Duke of Wellington mounted on his horse. This enormous artistic piece was designed and built by Matthew Cotes Wyatt. Due to the complexity of the project and the detailed and meticulous design it took 30 man and three years to complete the statue. In the past the statue was subject of dispute among many notable figures as some disapproved of its location.

The Home of the British Army also features a Military town that was created to testify for the military presence in the town of Aldershot. In order to preserve the history, in 1984 the Aldershot Military Museum was opened where even today visitors can hear the details of the story about the British Army, covering the moment when they first arrived in 1850s up until today. The Aldershot Military Museum is a real treat for all history buffs.
