Private Detective in Worsley

Worsley is a charming town situated in Greater Manchester, England. The area has evidence of a Roman and Anglo-Saxon settlement, such as the two Roman roads that passes through the town. The town was also the largest Manor of the seven old manors of Bridgewater Estates. One of the dominant economic activity of the town since early medieval era has been coal mining. Today, the town thrives on as a great tourist destination and a commuter town.

As a tourist destination, the town of Worsley has several tourist attractions structures and areas such as the packet house, old hall, Worsley Delph, and courthouse. All these places hold a great history worth learning about. The packet house which is located on the Bridgewater canal is a magnificent medieval building with a great significance in the past. The building and boat steps can be traced back to 1760 with the half-timbering having been added in 1850. The canal carried both passengers and cargo.

Another notable structure of the town besides the Packet house is the beautiful courthouse. This lovely structure was constructed in 1849 for the 1stEarl of Ellesmere to host the manorial court of Worsley town. It was previously referred to as Court Leet and has had several accounts of justice of a different nature. Currently, the structure is applied as a village hall for social events such as parties, wedding and meetings. This is after it was handed to the Salford city council in 1974.
