The little town of Marple is situated within the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport, located in Greater Manchester, in the United Kingdom. The town is positoned six kilometres from the southeastern portion of Stockport, around 14 kilometres from Macclesfield, and about 14 kilometres away from the southeast of Manchester. The River Goyt courses through the small town. There were Roman Lakes that can be found on southeastern parts of the town centre which appeals to the tourists.

The town of Marple is also home to the historical house of worhsip that was established in 1811, the All Saint's Church. An old church used to stand where the All Saints' Church stands today, but it was damaged beyond repair by 1803 that it was agreed that a new church has to be erected. All Saints' Church still stands today and sits on Church Lane, Marple. Additionally, there are a number of schools around Marple.

One of the most historical areas in the town of Marple is the Marple Wharf. It was operational until around the year 1920. Another long established building in the town is the Marple Hall. The exact time as to when the original hall was built is still unknown, but there were many extensions added to the building after its construction. There is a secondary school in the area, Marple Hall School, which established in 1960 Marple has countless pubs and restaurants.
