Stanmore is a beautiful suburban residential district located in Greater London, England. In the Doomsday Book, the area was written as stanmere. The town is features with several small restaurants, public houses, shops and supermarkets. When it comes to religion, the town has a 14thcentury church parish which was known as St Mary's but later dedicated to St John the Evangelist as it is known currently. It has a railway station and is well linked to other greater London regions.

The late W.SGilbert Stanmore is one of the notable residents of this town with his great doings. He was an English dramatist, Illustrator and Librettist. Gilbert died while at Grims Dyke where he presided and his ashes were brought to be buried in Stanmore. His grave is based in the south west of the church of St John the Evangelist on Church Street. Buried in 1911, his grave is made of white marble, a chamfered base and an Angel with wings shown above cambered slab.

The town has schools of its own and you don't have to take your children out of the town if you want to live here. One of the best schools in the town is the Park high school. It is a coeducational secondary school with sixth form too. It was as well a community school before it acquired its academy status in 2011. The Park High school provides GCSEs and OCR nationals to its various pupils. The pupils who are admitted in this school are aged between 11 and 18 years old.
