Harrow is a relatively large suburban town in the Great London county northwest of London, England. Harrow-on-the-hill includes a conservation area featuring high proportion of listed buildings of Georgian architecture residential and institutional types. It also has some 17th century building sample it houses the administrative offices of the borough made up of Greenhill, Headstone South and west Harrow wards. It has a large campus of University of Westminster and has the oldest secondary schools like harrow School and Harrow high school.

This library of Newton-le-Willows was built in 1909 with a grant of 4,000 pounds from the trust of St. Helens Metropolitan Council. It is located in Crow Lane East and is open every day of the week except Tuesdays. They provide adult and community learning in the libraries across St. Helens with virtual learning centres to make it easy to disseminate learning. It is a great place to be and the building is one of the historical landmarks.

This town has two historic railway stations; the Newton-le-Willows station is located in the old part of town that was originally built. It was opened to the same time as the other one, Earlestown railway station, in 1830. The original Liverpool and Manchester lines were joined by the 1837 line running south to Birmingham. There have been three other railway stations in the town over the years, these are situated at parkside. Other important landmarks are the Sankey Viaduct and the Newton Viaduct.
