Private Detective in Bakewell

Situated in the Derbyshire Dales district of Derbyshire, England, Bakewell is a town that has long been known for the production of the Bakewell Pudding. Despite not having enough evidence for the existence of earlier inhabitants in the area, still it is believed that Bakewell was established during the Anglo Saxon times. In 1254 Bakewell got its market which enabled the town to grow and evolve into a trading center. According to the last census Bakewell has a population of 3,949 people.

The Bakewell Parish Church is a religious object of great importance for this small town. Initially the church was founded in 920 in the Anglo Saxon times. When the church was restored in 1840s many remains from the Anglo Saxon period were found, such as some stonework and even ancient coffins. Work on the current church started in 12th century and continued throughout the years, however today there isn't much left from its original design.

One important landmark in the town of Bakewell is the Old House Museum that is a real history book. The house was originally built during the ruling of Henry VIII and was used as a cottage for the tax collector. During the industrial revolution it was inhabited by the mill workers and each period left a mark on it and contributed towards the unique design. In the 1950s it was scheduled for demolition, but luckily it was saved and tuned into a museum.
